Ajwain Export Has Increased By About 158 Percent in India

The Indian Government had taken some measures to increase the export of Ajwain. As a result, there has been an increase of 158 percent in the Ajwain export; It reached $3,7 million from $1,5 million.

The countries where India primarily exported Ajwain are as follows:
  • America – 23.3 percent of the export quantity
  • Saudi Arab – 20.1 percent
  • Canada – 11.2 percent
  • Nepal – 11 percent
  • Britain – 9.1 percent
Current Scenario 

Other reports also stated that the Govt's steps for increasing the export of Ajwain had seen significant positive results.
  • In January 2022, the sale was increased by 23.69 percent compared to January 2021, which was $27.54 billion. Compared to 2020, when the sale was recorded to be $25,85 billion, the increase for 2022 is about 31.75 percent.
  • Furthermore, the increase in export can be recorded from the figures of 2021-22 (April – January) and 2020-2021 (April – January). The increase in 2021-22 was about 46,34 percent.
  • In 2021-22, the sale was recorded for 335,44 billion, while the export sum for 2020-21 was $228,9 billion.
  • Compared to the 2019-2020 same period, the sale was about $264,13 billion, 27.0 percent less than the recorded sale for 2020-21.
Government Initiatives 

The Govt. took the initiative to help the exporters and traders of Ajwain during the pandemic. Accordingly, the following measures have been taken.
  • The Govt. formed a help desk. The objective was to keep the exporters and traders informed about export regulations and changes due to the pandemic.
  • It also is removing the old provisions among the trading and business sectors and reforming the Acts for better export facilities.
  • New reforms include establishing export hubs for every district.
  • Exporting centers are also being facilitated through various means by the Govt. for improving their service.
  • In addition, different steps are being taken to regularize the export system in India from the ground level, so there are minimal scams and illegal activities.
  • Moreover, it is becoming mandatory for exporters to have a license.
  • Additionally, a centralized IT platform is being created to lodge complaints about illegal exporting and other misdemeanors related to exporting.
Predictions 

According to market experts, the export for Ajwain is expected to increase to $34,06 billion.

The Indian Govt. wishes to bring the export quality up and branded according to international standards.
