A Northward Journey Expected in Celery

A Northward Journey Expected in Celery

In celery, the market has decreased drastically in the last three months. And it is predicted by market veterans that in the winter season, celery consumption can increase by an additional 20%, due to which there is no scope for a reduction in the current price of goods.

Supply decreased

The supply of celery in producer markets has decreased, and the commodity is unavailable at given prices. Experts had an opinion that until now, the goods from Pakistani and border shops were not allowing the market to boom, but that's not the case, as there is a deficit. Thus, there is so now there is no scope for slowing down. Furthermore, the subscription is weak in the market, and the stock is not being traded due to the crunch of the rupee. Despite all this, the goods are unavailable from the producer market at the current rate.

Coarse grains have taken over the area

Celery sowing has decreased in Jamnagar, Nandurbar, Javra, Neemuch, and Mandsaur lines. Now the farmers are getting into sowing coarse grains instead of celery. Due to the high prices of maize and pearl millet, coarse grains have taken over the area under all-around sowing. Apart from this, the prices of coriander have been high this time. Cumin and fennel are also being traded at a very high price, due to which most farmers favour their sowing. Given all these circumstances, there is no scope for further reduction in the current celery price. Instead, experts predict that Celery will hike by $0,12 per kg in the near future.

The Celery Seeds Whole prices were recorded at $1,35 per kg FOB.
