“Fenugreek Shortage Hits Indian Markets - Prices May Rise as Demand Grows for Ayurvedic Medicine”

Despite March being the season of fenugreek, the arrival is decreasing instead of increasing. At the same time, the goods of small traders have been cut at low prices.

In the last week, a little price hike has been seen in the shops of Madhya Pradesh and is intermittently increasing. The area under fenugreek has decreased by about 10-11% because the farmers all around have sown Coriander and cumin seeds, which have started coming at this time. New fenugreek has arrived in the Neemuch Mandsaur Javra line of Madhya Pradesh.

There has been a shortage of goods in the Pratapgarh, Nimbahera line of Rajasthan. On the other hand, the supply of fenugreek in the Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ratlam lines is coming less in shops compared to last year's period. In contrast, this time, the consumption of fenugreek had increased by about 17% in North India on average in winter.

60% is used for Ayurvedic Meidicine

Fenugreek is used more in making food items, and 60% is used by Ayurvedic companies in sugar medicine. The demand for Ayurvedic companies has also increased in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Thus, looking at the demand-supply scenario, experts opine that fenugreek will likely rise in the coming days, mainly due to petite arrivals in the distributing market.

The Fenugreek seeds 99 prices were Recorded at $0,33 per kg FOB.
