Port Reni Hosted a Vessel With a Record Carrying Capacity

On June 14, the bulk carrier BLUE GATE with a record deadweight of 24,000 tons started loading in the Reni port.

As stated in the notice of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine, this is the first vessel of such capacity for the Danube ports in the entire history of independent Ukraine.

This event became another proof of the effectiveness of the development of the infrastructure of the ports of the Danube cluster. According to preliminary data, in 2023, investments in infrastructure projects of ports on the Danube will exceed $110 million.

Reni Port set a historical record

In May, the commercial seaport "Reni" transshipped 1 million tons. This is a record indicator for the entire history of the port's existence.

According to the nomenclature of cargoes, grain cargoes were in the first place, edible oil was in the second place.

The head of AMPU, Yuriy Lytvyn, explained that such results were achieved thanks to the coordinated actions of state and private structures, the expansion of the cargo nomenclature, as well as implemented operational improvements.

In May, Reni Port handled 391 vessels, of which 134 were sea vessels and 257 were river vessels.
