Will Celery Prices Continue to Rise?

Will Celery Prices Continue to Rise?

Like a rollercoaster ride, celery prices along the Jamnagar, Nandurbar, Jawra, and Kurnool lines have been continuously upward for a week. The shortage of celery production, coupled with the influx of Pakistani goods, has set the stage for further price hikes.

According to the latest survey report, lightly washed celery goods have been flying off the shelves in producer markets, making them pricier by the day. The possibility of a significant boom looms and markets are poised to surge once the subscription comes into play. Celery is primarily cultivated in some regions of Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Moreover, the abundance of goods from the border areas of Pakistan and Gujarat, with their lighter price tags, has flooded the markets, occupying 90 percent of the wholesale shops in the past month.

Celery crop faces challenges

Like a weak link in the chain, the current celery crop faces challenges everywhere. However, as winter intensifies, local and chaplain demand is starting to emerge, adding a glimmer of hope. Ayurvedic companies, recognizing the value of celery, are actively purchasing it from Nandurbar, Jamnagar, and Javra lines, surpassing other regions. Meanwhile, in the Neemuch-Mandsaur line, the prices of celery are plummeting, and the arrival in the shops has significantly declined. Stockists had cut off the old goods throughout the year to avoid losses, resulting in a 22-25 percent reduction in average production.

Hold on tight and brace yourself for an exhilarating ride through the whimsical world of celery prices. Like a thrilling roller coaster, the prices along the Jamnagar, Nandurbar, Jawra, and Kurnool lines have been on an exciting upward trajectory, taking us on a wild journey of fluctuations and surprises. The scarcity of celery production and an unexpected influx of Pakistani goods have created the perfect storm for even more staggering price hikes.
