A Record Number of Vessels Pass through the Ukrainian Sea Corridor

For two days in a row, on February 17 and 18, 16 vessels left Ukrainian sea ports. This is a record figure for the entire period of operation of the Ukrainian sea corridor. Since September 2023, when the Ukrainian sea corridor became operational, more than 750 vessels and tankers have passed through it. Ukraine managed to export this way more than 23 million tons of domestic products to the countries of Europe, Asia and Africa.

In total, Ukraine has already exported 27 million tons of grain since the beginning of the season.

According to operational data from the State Customs Service, as of February 19, since the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Ukraine has exported 27.059 million tons of grains. Only this month the volumes of grain export are 3.183 million tons.

As of February 20 last year, the total shipments amounted to 30.318 million tons, including in February – 3.347 million tons.

By crop, since the beginning of the current season the following have been exported:
  • wheat – 10.521 million tons (in 2022/23  – 10.808 million tons);
  • barley – 1.547 million tons (1.981 million tons);
  • rye – 1 thousand tons (15.3 thousand tons);
  • corn – 14.725 million tons (17.415 million tons)
