Apricot Orchards Weather Hail Storms: Farmers Remain Optimistic as Harvest Progresses

Although the hail experienced in some regions of Türkiye last week negatively affected some apricot orchards, but not enough to affect the overall harvest. The weather is getting warmer and the apricot trees are blooming. Farmers also started spraying the trees during the flowering period to prevent diseases.

Due to the high prices, exports continue, although not very quickly. After the local elections, farmers are expecting support from the state. Since the current drug prices are indexed to foreign currency, the prices of the new crop do not seem to fall below today's prices. Unless there is a sudden frost or hail in the weather, the productivity of the apricot trees is going well for now.

The apricot new season situation will become a little clearer around the end of April. The slight decrease in export prices last week caused farmers to start selling their products a little more, but some producers think that prices will increase again. For now the prices are the same as last week.
