Vineyards Blossom Despite Frost Concerns: Export Prices on the Rise

Vineyards Blossom Despite Frost Concerns: Export Prices on the Rise

The effects of last week's partial frost in Türkiye have begun to be seen. The weather temperature is above the seasonal norms and the gardens have awakened and started to bloom. But many farmers are not satisfied with the current state of the vineyards. The situation of the new season grapes will be clearer after all the vineyards are awakened, but still, a large yield is not expected for now.

Export prices are also constantly increasing. As the end of the season is approaching, the amount of remaining stock has decreased, and the increase in prices causes farmers not to sell their goods. It is very difficult to find size 10 raisins in tonnage. Exports are slow. Farmers and exporters are waiting for what will happen to the economy and the USD and EURO after the local elections held on Sunday.

If costs decrease, new season prices may be affordable for European countries, but the current situation does not seem to change much. Last week, raisin exports were 4411 tons and the average price was 2497 USD, a decrease of 40 tons compared to last year.

During the period of 01.09.2022-30/03/2024 week, 7.390,452 tonnes of crop 2022 raisins were exported, total price is 12.674.806,42 $ and average rate is 1,715$ per mt.
