Coriander Prices Poised for Mid-Year Surge

Coriander Prices Poised for Mid-Year Surge

Anticipated Recovery in Coriander Market

Experts, notably Sumit Tapadia, forecast coriander prices to climb to $1,08 to $1,20 per kg by July-August. This rise is expected after significant price declines. Instead of strong sales of high-quality green coriander earlier in the year.

As of now, Eagle quality coriander commands a price of $90 per quintal, while Badami quality is at $81,60 per quintal. The surge in the availability of green quality coriander has not only increased its market presence but also reduced its price by $0,12 to $0,18 per kg.

Price Stability Amid Seasonal Fluctuations

Initially set to not fall below $84 per quintal, coriander prices have stayed stable. Daily arrivals of coriander in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan vary from 80,000 to 100,000 bags, including a substantial amount of rice in Rajasthan's markets. Experts project that this level of activity will continue for another 8-10 days before potentially declining.

Green quality paddy is currently priced between $0,96 to $1,08 per kg for single perpet quality and $1,08 to $1,20 per kg for double perpet quality. This price band reflects the ongoing market adjustments and the robust nature of coriander sales.

Export and Domestic Dynamics

This year, coriander's trade dynamics have been subdued, with minimal export activity and typical purchasing levels by domestic spice companies. These conditions will likely persist over the next ten days, influencing overall market sentiment and pricing strategies.
