Aldi Sunflower Seeds Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns

German supermarket chain Aldi is recalling a specific batch of Gut Bio sunflower seeds due to possible Salmonella contamination. The affected product is the 650g bag of Gut Bio Sunflower Seeds with the batch number 23007616/1 and a best-before date of March 2025.

Customers are urged not to consume the product and to return it to any Aldi Nord or Aldi SΓΌd store for a full refund, even without a receipt. The recall applies to Aldi stores in several German states.

Salmonella can cause serious illness, including diarrhea, headache, abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are especially at risk of serious complications.

This recall was initiated by the Austrian manufacturer, Estyria Naturprodukte GmbH. Aldi has already removed the affected product from store shelves.
