Turkish Raisin Prices Surge to Record Highs, Export Demand Continues Amidst Supply Shortage

Raisin prices are at their highest level in recent years and continue to rise. As raw materials become harder to find, prices rise. Thinking that it will be even higher in the new season, exporters store raw materials on a deferred basis at higher prices than farmers. This situation is naturally reflected in export prices. Countries that have not given up on Turkish grapes, such as England and Germany, are keeping exports alive for now. The raw material, which is at the level of 80-90 TL or 2,31-2,59 €, will find buyers for 100-120 TL or 2,88-3,46 € in next May. For the season, the expectation of 3 dollars per kg is high.

It's time to collect leaves in the vineyards. In addition to raisins, selling leaves in the local market is another source of income for the farmer. It is important to collect the leaves before the intensive spraying begins. This process is important for the farmer to make money from the leaves and to make the grape vines more productive.
