Rising Dried Fig Raw Material Prices in Türkiye Amid Concerns of Drought and Increased Costs
Dried fig raw material prices continue to increase, albeit slightly. The decrease in stocks is very effective in the price increase. Temperatures will remain between 29-32 degrees until the end of the week, and rain is expected at the weekend. Lack of sufficient April rain increases the risk of drought in the summer months.
Farmers are worried that early irrigation and spraying will increase costs. This means a price increase for exporters and importers who buy dried figs from Türkiye. It is difficult to determine the quantity for the new crop for now, but the first exports seem to be realized at high prices. In the current situation, exports continue with stocks on hand. Exporting companies take the raw materials they can find into their warehouses.
