Unexpected Hailstorm Hits Manisa Vineyards, Raisin Prices Expected to Rise

Unexpected Hailstorm Hits Manisa Vineyards, Raisin Prices Expected to Rise

The rainy weather affected Manisa, the capital of raisins. Heavy hail on Sunday caused the vineyards to be covered with a snow-white cover. Farmers are both surprised and saddened by this unexpected weather event in May. Local and international grape prices seem to remain at record levels and will increase even more after the hailstorm. Although it is not yet clear how the new harvest is affected, it is expected to cause serious damage. The panic among farmers will affect prices.

Farmers, who earn money by collecting leaves from the vineyards as well as raisins, are very upset because the leaves are damaged after the rain. The situation of the ties will become more clear next week.
