Soaring Raisin Prices in Türkiye Amidst Unpredictable Market Conditions and Weather Challenges

Soaring Raisin Prices in Türkiye Amidst Unpredictable Market Conditions and Weather Challenges

This year in Türkiye, raisin prices are constantly on the rise. At the beginning of the month, TMO put its stocks up for sale through a tender and large exporting companies filled their stocks. The biggest buyer was TARİŞ and bought 1000 tons of grapes. This sale by TMO further increased the raw material prices. It was traded at 125TL or 3,58 € and is expected to reach 135TL or 3,87€ next week. This increase seems to continue until the new season. This year's unexpected weather events, diseases in the vineyards, and the general harvest, which is over 300 thousand tons, are expected to be around 200-250 thousand tons, which means that it will be above the current market prices for the new season.

The farmer is sad because of the loss of yield, but happy because the prices are high. High prices have slowed down exports; companies only give short-term prices for serious demands. The market situation is very uncertain.

Price expectation for coming weeks is higher than this week
