End of Season Insights and Preparations for New Dried Fig Harvest in Türkiye
We can say that we have come to the end of the dried fig season in Türkiye. The last stocks will be finished with the shipments in the first week of June, and only the figs used in the domestic market will remain.
Farmers continue their preparations for the new season. They aim to enjoy this period, when pollination begins, until the end of June.
There was a little rain in the region over the weekend. This situation did not affect the dried figs, the air temperatures are within seasonal norms and in good condition for the trees. It is very important that it does not rain at the final stage when the figs are drying. Last year, the harvest suffered a lot of losses due to this reason.
Prices are stable due to a lack of movement. It's too early for the new season price.
Last week;
Weekly exports surged to 1,155 mt on 25 May as opposed to the 498 mt registered in the same week last year. Total exports, however, range lower than last year at 54,034 mt as compared with 57,610 mt.
