Mango Business to See Profitable Growth Amid Low Production

Mango Business to See Profitable Growth Amid Low Production

Low Production and High Demand Create Profit Opportunities

This season, mango production in India has decreased significantly, leading to a profitable business environment for amchoor traders. With traders not seeing profits in the past several years. Interest in the amchoor business was low at the beginning of the season. However, the current supply is 38-40 percent less than last year in the producing markets, creating a shortage. Under these circumstances, the amchoor business is set to be very profitable at current prices.

Significant Decrease in Mango Crop Across Key Regions

According to the latest survey report, there is a substantial decrease in the mango crop in regions such as Jagdalpur, Bastar, Bijapur, Nandurbar, Jamnagar, and Dandoycha in Madhya Pradesh. Similar conditions are observed in Lucknow, Siddharthnagar, Gorakhpur, Sultanpur, Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, Sasaram, Ara, Bhagalpur in Bihar, and the Malda line of Bengal. This reduced supply of raw small and big tikole mangoes has been evident since the season started.

New dry mango powder typically starts arriving in early May. However, compared to the same period last year, only 50 percent of the usual arrivals have been made in the market over the past two months. The white dry mango powder from the Jagdalpur line is currently selling at $1,56-$1,62 per kg, up from last year's $1,37-$1,44 per kg.

Anticipated Price Increase for Mango Powder

The sweet mango powder from the Siddharth Nagar line, which usually helps curb market inflation, has seen a 60 percent reduction in supply this year. In Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the availability of mango powder is also low, with black yellow goods selling at $1,32-$1,38 per kg. In Chhattisgarh, the supply is reduced, and much of the old stock has been depleted. Given these conditions, the price of Jagdalpur line mango powder could increase by $0,36-$0,42 per kg by Diwali.

Notably, this year, the supply in Lucknow and Siddharth Nagar lines is significantly less, and production ended 15-20 days earlier than usual. Similarly, there is a decrease in supply from the Giridih Dumka line in Jharkhand. Consequently, there is minimal risk in the current price. Making it a promising time for traders to invest in the mango powder market.

The mango and amchoor market is set to be profitable this season due to reduced supply and increased demand. With significant decreases in mango production across key regions and the resultant supply shortages. Prices are expected to rise, offering lucrative opportunities for traders.
