What Is the Latest Situation in the Apricot Market in Türkiye?

What Is the Latest Situation in the Apricot Market in Türkiye?

The new crop of apricots has started to dry. Farmers continue their core extraction and drying work at full speed. Last week, some parts of Malatya received excessive rainfall. Although farmers were worried about the apricots rotting, the long-term lack of rain prevented the crop from being damaged. The situation in the market is still not clear. The decrease in prices makes farmers worried about increasing costs. Some producers do not put products on the market and expect prices to rise.

In addition, producers make their voices heard in the press and make statements about TMO's base price announcement and its contribution to farmers. There is no sound from the TMO side yet. It is not clear what the situation will be like next month, although the price of sulfur apricots in the domestic market continues to be low, the daily rate has started to rise a little. For now, sulfur apricot Jumbo is priced between 120-130 TL or 3,33-3,61€ and dried apricot is priced between 250-300 TL or 6,93-8,32€.
