Anticipation Builds for Raisin Price Announcement as Harvest Begins Early in Türkiye
The wait for the August price announcement in raisins continues with excitement. Farmers expect the new crop price to be above 3 USD. Exporters have started to give prices for the new crop and are making offers to their buyers for grape number 9 at 3,7 USD. Currently, the prices of raisins in stock have decreased from 4,5 USD to 3,9 USD. The approach of the new crop is a major factor in the decrease in prices. New season yield estimates are around 200 thousand.
Tariş president Mr.Ferhat Şen made statements last week. He announced that they would announce the prices on August 1st and start purchasing on August 15th.
Extreme heat
The extreme heat of the weather ( 40 - 45°C ) caused the harvest to start early. The grapes, which started to be dried on July 23 last year, started to be dried as of July 8 this year.
