Turkish Raisin Market Heats Up: Strong Start to the Season

Turkish Raisin Market Heats Up: Strong Start to the Season

This year seems to be very active for raisins. The season starts with a low yield but good quality, and prices increase. No. 9 raisins started to be exported at 3750 USD. However, producers expect that prices will increase even more with the full start of the season and reach 5 USD towards the end of the year.

Another factor in the high price expectation is that there is a low grape variety and alcohol companies demand sultana grapes more. The fact that even the 3. 4. quality grapes, which we call substandard, are demanded by alcohol companies at high prices also plays an important role in the increase in the prices of 1. quality grapes. Exporting companies also get their share of this competition. It is possible that prices will stabilize a little more next month, at least until mid-October.
