Quality Grapes and Weather Woes: Turkish Raisin Prices on the Rise

Turkish raisins continue to record high export prices this season. Due to the abundance of grapes at the beginning of the season, prices normally start low and rise in the new year. But this year, prices will start high and rise even more.

Raisins are very good in quality, number 8 grapes have not yet arrived at the companies, since number 8 and number 9 will be very close to each other in terms of color this year, companies are giving the same price.

While the grapes continue to dry, heavy rainfall on 27/08/2024 caused flooding in some regions and some farmers who were caught unprepared were left under water while their grapes continued to dry. The total damage is not yet clear, but this situation seems to affect the prices. Importers have started to make agreements. The harvest, which started early due to the hot weather, caused an early start in exports. The first exports will start in the first week of September.
