Turkish Hazelnut Campaign Kicks Off in India

The Turkish Hazelnut Exporters Associations have launched a four-year campaign to introduce Turkish Hazelnuts to the Indian market according to India.com. The initiative was marked by a special event at the Turkish Embassy in collaboration with the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council of India (NDFCI). Notable attendees included Fırat Sunel, the Turkish Ambassador to India; Hasan Osman Sabır, Chairman of the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters Association; and Gunjan Jain, President of the NDFCI.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Speaking at the event, Fırat Sunel said, "The introduction of Turkish hazelnuts to India is a significant step in the growing partnership between our two nations. Hazelnuts represent not only the rich agricultural heritage of Turkey but also our dedication to quality and tradition. This campaign reflects the strengthening of bilateral relations and opens up exciting opportunities for future collaboration in the food and culinary sectors."

Market Potential and Demand in India for Turkish Hazelnuts

Hasan Osman Sabır emphasized the Indian market’s potential, noting rising demand and the versatility of hazelnuts in confectionery. Gunjan Jain expressed excitement about the partnership. He highlighting the growing appetite for premium nuts in India and the role Turkiye will play in meeting this increasing demand.
