Lentil Prices Set to Rise in China

Lentil Prices Set to Rise in China

Tianjin – The new season Chinese lentil harvest is in progress, and prices have temporarily declined as buyers look to make purchases. However, the planting area for lentils this season is smaller, and production levels are low, leading to expectations that prices may rise in the later stages of the season.

Current Pricing for Organic and Conventional Lentils

As of now, FOB prices for organic lentils in Tianjin and Dalian are quoted between $1,530 and $1,570 per tonne, while conventional lentils are priced at $1,440 to $1,470 per tonne. These price points reflect current market conditions as the harvest continues.

Market Outlook

With the reduced planting area and low production, market participants are advised to monitor price trends closely. It is expected that the combination of limited supply and steady demand will drive prices higher as the season progresses.
