Argentina’s soybean production is expected to reach 52.6 million tons, an increase from 50 million tons in the previous season. This growth is driven by an 8% increase in sown areas for soybeans, partially offset by a 21% reduction in corn planting areas. Despite the shift in acreage, corn production is still forecasted to reach 52 million tons, up from 49.5 million tons last season, showcasing Argentina’s capacity to maintain strong yields even with changing crop patterns.

Wheat Harvest Surges Amid Expanded Planting Areas

One of the most striking projections for the 2024/25 season is the forecasted wheat harvest, which is expected to climb to 20.4 million tons from 6.7 million hectares. This is a significant increase from last year’s 14.5 million tons, positioning Argentina as a key player in the global wheat market. Barley, Sorghum, and Sunflower Outlooks

Despite the optimistic forecasts, analysts warn that insufficient rainfall could lower total grain and oilseed production to 128.8 million tons. If drought conditions persist, Argentina’s projected growth could fall short of expectations.
