Corn Market: Weak Global Demand and Favorable Weather Limit Gains

Corn Market: Weak Global Demand and Favorable Weather Limit Gains

Price Development

  • Euronext: Corn prices dropped slightly to €0.24/kg, reflecting weak global demand.
  • CME: Prices stood at €0.23/kg, as demand remained tepid and weather conditions in the U.S. favored a smooth harvest.

Weather Forecast

In the Corn Belt (U.S.), dry weather and temperatures ranging from 18°C to 24°C are expected, allowing for the quick completion of the corn harvest. In Europe (France and Hungary), light rain is expected, with temperatures between 12°C and 18°C, which should not significantly disrupt the harvest.

Outlook: Corn prices are likely to remain under pressure due to weak demand from major importers like China and Mexico. Lower energy prices could also impact the market, as corn's use in ethanol production declines.
