Feed Grain Continues to Rise in Price in Ukrainian Ports

The upward trend in feed grain prices on the Ukrainian export market continued.

Prices were still supported by high import demand, restraint of sales by agricultural producers on the domestic market, and a similar situation on related markets. The number of grain offers also remained insufficient, which influenced the gradual increase in prices.

Thus, in the ports of Odessa and Danube ports, the purchasing prices for feed wheat increased by 5-10 USD/t. As of October 8, 2024, prices are quoted within the range of 195-205 and 200-210 USD/t CPT port, Odessa and Danube, respectively.

Prices for feed barley also increased mainly within the range of 5-10 USD/t. Traders are offering now 170-180 USD/t with delivery to ports. Unlike wheat, barley mainly goes to Odesa ports with loading on bigger vessels.

Since the beginning of the week, prices for feed corn have increased by 200-400 UAH/t. As of October 8, corn prices reached the level of 200USD/t CPT ports. Such sharp price increase is connected with ongoing harvesting and limited propositions. Also it is clear that stocks of old harvest have been significantly reduced.
