Sunflower Seed Market Enters Peak Season with Rising Demand and Cautious Pricing

Tianjin: Sunflower Seed Demand Grows as Prices Expected to Rise After New Year's Day

According to feedback from market participants, the sunflower seed market in Tianjin has entered its peak season. Domestic purchasing volumes have increased as the weather cools, and new orders are on the rise. With large shipments of sunflower seeds expected to begin in November to meet both domestic and international demand for winter, traders are preparing for a potential price increase after New Year's Day.

Rising Demand and Cautious Pricing

Exporters are currently offering cautious prices, wary of potential market fluctuations that could impact pricing in the coming months. This week, the export reference price for 361 standard sunflower seeds (200-210 grains/50 grams) is between €1,196-1,224/ton, while the price for 190-200 grains/50 grams is €1,214-1,242/ton. Traders are moving large quantities of goods, anticipating increased demand and price hikes as winter approaches.

Market Outlook: Price Increase Likely After New Year

With both domestic and international demand for sunflower seeds rising, the market is expected to remain strong. As peak season continues, prices are predicted to rise after New Year's Day. Traders and exporters will need to monitor the market closely to adapt to any changes in demand and pricing.
