Strong Progress in Ukraine’s Harvest Season with High Sunflower and Soybean Yields

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the country's sunflower harvest reached 94% of its target by October 24, yielding 9.54 million tons from 4.63 million hectares at an average yield of 2.06 tons per hectare. Ukraine's soybean harvest also achieved 93% completion, bringing in 5.621 million tons from 2.47 million hectares with an average yield of 2.27 tons per hectare.

Progress in Grain and Pulse Harvest Campaigns

Ukraine’s grain and pulse harvest campaign is nearing its end, with 9.757 million hectares harvested, amounting to 88% of the target 11.116 million hectares. The gross grain harvest has reached 45.08 million tons, with an average yield of 4.62 tons per hectare. As of October 26, the pace of harvesting remains ahead of last year, with 8.85 million hectares yielding 43.366 million tons at an average yield of 4.9 tons per hectare.

Late Crops and Sugar Beet Harvest Update

Late grain crops, including corn, are still being harvested. Corn yields have reached 15.415 million tons from 2.69 million hectares (67% of the target), with an impressive yield of 5.72 tons per hectare. Buckwheat and millet have also shown progress: buckwheat production has reached 126,900 tons from 87,500 hectares with a yield of 1.45 tons per hectare, and millet yields 159,450 tons from 85,100 hectares, with an average yield of 1.87 tons per hectare.

In addition, Ukraine’s sugar beet harvest is advancing, with 170,600 hectares harvested, reaching 66% of the target area and producing a total of 8.26 million tons at an average yield of 48.42 tons per hectare.

Russian Harvest Comparison

According to Olescope, Russia has also made significant progress in its harvest season as of October 22. Russian farmers have harvested 13.8 million tons of sunflower, 4.8 million tons of rapeseed, and 6.6 million tons of soybeans, underscoring strong agricultural productivity across the region.
