In 2023, Bahia reclaimed its position as the leading cocoa-producing state in Brazil, surpassing Pará with a total production of 139,011 tons, as reported by the Municipal Agricultural Survey (PAM) conducted by IBGE. This resurgence was supported by over R$ 100 million in investments from the State Government through the Regional Development and Action Company (CAR), aiming to strengthen the cocoa production system.
