Ukraine has maintained a strong pace in grain exports, shipping 26.449 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops since the start of the 2024/25 marketing year (MY). According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, citing operational data from the State Customs Service of Ukraine, February shipments alone accounted for 758,000 tonnes.Compared to the same period last year, Ukraine’s total grain exports have increased by 1.73 million tonnes, as shipments stood at 24.716 million tonnes by February 7, 2024, with 840,000 tonnes shipped in February. The rise in export volume reflects Ukraine’s resilience in the global grain market, despite facing logistical challenges and geopolitical uncertainties.
Breakdown of Ukraine’s Grain Exports
Since the beginning of the 2024/25 marketing year Ukraine has exported:- Wheat: 11.073 million tonnes, with 269,000 tonnes shipped in February.
- Corn: 12.865 million tonnes, including 472,000 tonnes exported this month.
- Barley: 2.079 million tonnes, with 15,000 tonnes shipped in February.
- Rye: 10,800 tonnes, with no shipments recorded this month.
Ukrainian Flour Exports Show Steady Growth
Ukraine has also maintained steady exports of flour, with total shipments reaching 44,300 tonnes since the beginning of the season. This includes:- Wheat flour: 40,900 tonnes, with 700 tonnes exported in February.
- Other flour products: 3,400 tonnes exported throughout the season.
