Indian Fenugreek Prices May Dip Slightly Due to Higher Production
Indian Fenugreek Price May Ease By Supply in Market
Indian fenugreek prices might ease slightly in the next few weeks because of higher sowing and favorable weather across major growing states. Traders report rapid sales of leftover stock from last season, which adds pressure on current market prices.Fenugreek crops in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat look excellent, with full arrivals expected within two weeks. Additionally, sowing has significantly increased in Bihar and West Bengal, ensuring ample local supply for the next few months.
Last year, even though production was lower, prices did not increase as expected due to substantial carryover stock. This year, higher production and lower-quality carryover stocks may push prices slightly downward.

Increased Planting and Strong Harvest Expectations
Fenugreek sowing in Neemuch, Ratlam, Kumbhraj, Mandsaur, Kota, and Baran increased by 22–23%, and in Gujarat, it rose by about 12–13%. Although leftover stocks are relatively low, increased planting and strong harvest expectations mean price hikes might remain limited.Farmers and analysts estimate this year's production at around 10 lakh bags compared to last year's 8 lakh bags, plus about 2,25 lakh bags of carryover stock in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Delhi. This total availability of roughly 12 lakh bags will likely prevent sharp price increases.
Advice for Traders
Given the upcoming increase in market arrivals and limited immediate demand, fenugreek prices could fall by another USD 0,02–0,03 per kg. Traders might prefer waiting until the market stabilizes before committing to larger purchases.
