Indian Cashew Market Quiet as Traders Await Post-Ramadan
Limited Movement in Indian Cashew Market
The Indian cashew market remained mostly quiet over the past week. Although there was some renewed interest in the Souparnika variety, especially during the second half of the week, it did not convert into firm deals. With Ramadan drawing to a close, traders are waiting to assess how overall demand shaped up during the month. The Kollam kernel market has seen little activity, while Delhi is under some pressure due to low-grade cashew kernels being sent on commission. The raw seed market saw minor spot trades, but buyers are cautious with new arrivals expected in 10 days. Large commitments are being avoided for now.
Vietnam Cashew Exporters See Stronger Support
Vietnam, on the other hand, is seeing better momentum. Prices for W320 grade have firmed as overseas buyers remain active. Many packers have already fulfilled a good portion of their orders and are now observing raw seed developments before committing further.China continues to purchase for nearby shipments, which is adding to the price support. Meanwhile, demand from Japanese buyers has returned, especially for W320 and W450, with forward positions being booked through September 2025.
With India cautious and Vietnam holding firm, the global cashew market appears balanced for now. However, the next few weeks—especially post-Ramadan—will offer more clarity on trade volumes and price direction.
